From Regional Diploma Student to a Bachelor’s Degree in Teaching: Alana Stockdale’s Journey

For Alana Stockdale, early childhood education wasn’t always the plan.
“I initially started off in aged care… then I fell pregnant with my son,” she explains. “Looking at child cares, talking to my sister, I was like, you know what? I actually really like the look of this.”
Living out near Bendigo in regional Victoria, Alana wanted an accessible study option that didn’t require commuting to campus or relocating. She chose to complete her Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care online with us here at Practical Outcomes.
“I chose Practical Outcomes because I had heard really good things about them.”
Studying online gave her the flexibility to train in early childhood education from home without sacrificing the quality of her studies.

Practical placement
Practical learning is the best way to develop hands-on, real-life skills so you can be job-ready with the confidence needed to succeed in the workplace!
Depending on the program a minimum amount of hours must be completed in an education and care service. For students not currently working in the industry, these hours are incorporated into our programs through practical placement. And we even help you organise placement via our extensive industry network!

On-Demand Learning Support
When you enrol, you’ll unlock access to our AI-powered learning tools ready to support you anytime, including evenings and weekends. It’s there to keep you moving forward, without replacing the hands-on learning that builds real skills.
