Gain the confidence and knowledge to recognise and respond to child safety concerns

This nationally recognised unit equips learners with the essential knowledge and practical skills required to identify indicators of abuse and neglect, respond appropriately to disclosures, and report concerns in line with legislative and organisational requirements.

This program is designed for people working in child-related roles and reflects current child protection frameworks, mandatory reporting obligations, and child-safe practice expectations across Australian jurisdictions. It is particularly relevant for those in early childhood education and care, education support, community services, youth work, and health settings.

Through this program, learners will develop a clear understanding of the types, indicators, and dynamics of abuse, protective and risk factors affecting children and young people. Strong emphasis is placed on duty of care, professional boundaries and ethical practices.
